Retaining much of its Victorian seaside charm, Hunstanton and the surrounding coast offer plenty of things to do during your holiday. Whether you want a quiet break exploring the many historic houses, appreciating our wonderful wildlife and enjoying our fine, local food or whether you prefer to trying your hand at paddle boarding, kite-surfing and enjoying all the thrills of the fun-fair, you will be spoilt for choice.
Wildlife and Heritage
The varied habitats along the North Norfolk coast make this area a hotspot for bird watching, with several RSPB reserves you can visit. Plus, why not take a trip out to see the seals at Blakeney, go on a deer safari at Snettisham Park or a visit to the award winning Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, home to BBC's Springwatch for 3 years.
With the Royal residence at Sandringham, Holkham Hall, and several National Trust properties, there are plenty of historic houses you can visit during your stay.
Families and Beaches
Norfolk has some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Hunstanton beach is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Old Hunstanton, Holkham, Brancaster and Wells beaches are all just a short drive away.
Hunstanton has lots to keep families busy; swimming at the Oasis Leisure Centre, ten-pin bowling at the Pier, crazy golf along the promenade and a visit to the SeaLife Centre.
There is a wide choice of places to eat all along the coast, from the home-cooked snacks and lunches at the beach cafe at Old Hunstanton through to fine dining at Michelin starred restaurants. And not forgetting an essential fish and chip supper by the sea!
